TORONTO, Ont. – The latest polls have the Liberals and Conservatives in a close race, while the New Democratic Party is not too far behind.
That means this final week on the campaign trial will be vital, especially with the leadership debate set for Tuesday night.
NDP leader Andrea Horwath revealed how much her party platform will cost earlier Sunday. The party said its platform would cost $3.3-billion, compared to $3.6-billion for the Liberals and almost $6-billion for the Tories.
The Liberals are calling the NDP plan “reckless,” saying it is full of job-killing tax hikes and tax breaks for gas guzzlers.
Tim Hudak will be in Brantford on Sunday, promising to help victims of crime.
He is claiming that the Liberals have been sitting on a $31-million surplus in the Ontario Victims Justice fund, while victims of crime struggle to get any compensation at all.
Meanwhile, Liberal leader Dalton McGuinty will be in Toronto, campaigning at an event on Bloor Street.
McGuinty is under fire after his party announced they are scrapping plans to build a mega watt power plant on the Toronto-Mississauga border.
Both the Conservatives and NDP have been vocal about the change of heart by the Liberals, though neither of those parties have said if they will go ahead with construction if they are elected.
