Happy ending to stolen Ajax bulldogs caper

Two stolen British bulldog puppies have been reunited with their owner after being stolen from an Ajax pet store.

Early Monday, Ajax’s Puppy’s Place Pet Store & Pet Grooming was robbed of four dogs, each valued at $2,000. Two of the dogs were later recovered after the store’s owner, Edison Correa, found them advertised for sale on the website Kijiji.

The remaining two were brought to a Durham Police station Tuesday night and reunited with Correa “much to his delight,” police said in a statement.

Two men were arrested Tuesday in connection with the puppy caper.

James Colley, 37, of Ajax faces various charges, including possession of property obtained by crime and possession of break and enter instruments. He will appear in court on Thursday.

The other man was released with no charges.
