C. difficile outbreak at Markham Stouffville Hospital

Extra precautions are being taken at Markham Stouffville Hospital as the facility deals with a C. difficile outbreak.
The hospital said the problem is limited to two inpatient units, but hasn’t said how many patients have Clostridium Difficile infections.
The hospital is only allowing two visitors per patient and is taking other steps to avoid the spread, including increased hand washing and cleaning.
“Patients and visitors should continue to feel confident to come to our hospital,” a statement on the facility’s website said.
