A Toronto man has been charged with murder in the stabbing of his co-worker at a Chinatown restaurant.
Last Wednesday, emergency crews found the victim in Chinese Traditional Bun on Dundas Street West, near Spadina Avenue.
The 45-year-old woman had life-threatening neck wounds and was taken to hospital. She died on Saturday.
Police have now identified her as Guang Lu of Toronto.
Lu’s co-worker, a 57-year-old man named Chi Kuan, was originally arrested for attempted murder and aggravated assault, but on Monday, his charges were upgraded to second-degree murder.
He appeared in an Old City Hall court Tuesday morning and will next appear in court on Jan. 18.
Lu’s death marked Toronto’s 46th homicide of 2011.
