Winter break ends for students

TORONTO, Ont. – After two weeks of sleeping in, light traffic and no schedule, it’s back to the routine, Monday, as the school winter break comes to an end.
There will definitely be more vehicles on the roads, and Brian Patterson, president of the Ontario Safety League, said drivers need to pay attention, and treat this like the first day of school.
“We’re going to see hundreds of kids heading back to school, hoods up, buds in their ear, heads down and not really paying much attention, and we need drivers to be extremely vigilant as they head into work,” Patterson.
Meanwhile, 680News meteorologist Jill Taylor said there’s a bit of a chill in the air.
“We’ll have wind chill values near -7 as the kids head back to school. But overall, a mild day. We’ll climb to 4 C — that’s well above average,” Taylor said.
She said we can possibly expect some snow later in the week.
