Pedestrian killed in Oshawa identified

A pedestrian killed Thursday morning in a collision in Oshawa has been identified as 59-year-old Susanne Taylor.

Durham Regional police said she was struck by a pick-up truck around 7:15 a.m. at Hillcroft Street and Camelot Drive, near Rossland and Wilson roads.

Taylor was rushed to hospital where she later died.

The driver of the truck, a 54-year-old Oshawa man, was not injured.

The area was closed to traffic for the police investigation, but has since reopened.

Police said neither weather nor road conditions were factors in the collision. Alcohol is also not believed to have caused the crash.
