Apple expected to unveil new iPad Wednesday

Apple is expected to unveil its latest iPad at an event Wednesday in San Francisco.

It’s rumoured the iPad 3 — which some speculate might also be called iPad HD — would have a faster processor, sharper screen, better wireless access and Siri, the voice-activated assistant on the iPhone 4S, according to The Canadian Press.

Apple could also announce a new smart TV set.

Ahead of the announcement, Future Shop has cut $150 off the price of the iPad 2 with Wi-Fi and 3G.

Starting at 12:30 p.m., CityNews technology reporter Mike Yawney (@gadget_guy) will tweet live updates and photos from the Apple event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
