18-year-old suspect charged for double murder

An 18-year-old man accused of shooting two brothers to death in a North York parking garage last winter has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Don Johnson on Monday and on Tuesday, authorities announced they’d made an arrest.

Johnson is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the February deaths of brothers Justin Waterman, 18, and Jerome Waterman, 22. They were found dead in the garage at 325 Bogert Ave., near Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue, on Feb. 20. Their deaths marked the city’s seventh and eighth homicides of the year.

Johnson is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday at 10 a.m.
