The body of a 15-year-old Hamilton girl who was missing for nearly 10 years has been found in Niagara Falls.
Felicia Floriani, 15, was reported missing in June 2002 and she was last seen that September. According to the Hamilton police website, Floriani had a history of running away, and was known to support herself as a sex trade worker.
Her body was found in a field off of Church Road, in West Lincoln, on April 19. Two months later, Niagara Regional Police said the Toronto coroner’s office had identified the remains.
Floriani’s disappearance was investigated as part of Project Advocate, which looked at violent crimes targeting sex trade workers in Hamilton and Burlington.
The Hamilton Police homicide unit has taken over the investigation into Floriani’s death and is looking for anyone with information to come forward.
