LinkedIn investigating leak of up to 6-million user passwords

TORONTO, Ont. – More than six-million passwords may have been stolen and leaked onto the Internet from business social-networking website LinkedIn
If you use the networking website, a password change might be in order.
A file containing six-million passwords was stolen and leaked onto the Internet where hackers were working together to crack the encrypted codes.
Graham Cluley, a consultant with the U.K. web security company Sophos, confirmed that the passwords were among other private information stolen from the LinkedIn database.
LinkedIn did not immediately respond to requests for comment, but they posted a Tweet a few hours following initial reports of the leak saying they are “looking into reports of stolen passwords.”
LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network, with over 150-million active users.
