A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after he plunged from a balcony near Dundas and Hurontario streets in Mississauga Tuesday morning.

The accident happened around 3 a.m. on Rugby Road. It’s not known why the man tumbled from the sixth-floor balcony.

Peel police say they were called to a disturbance on Rugby Road before the man fell.

The province’s police watchdog, the Special Investigations Unit, has been called in to probe the incident. The civilian agency investigates incidents involving police that result in serious injury, sexual assault or death.
