Man arrested after rooftop chase

Police have arrested a man who tried to evade them by climbing on rooftops early Saturday morning.
Officers say the man was driving erratically near Bathurst and Dundas streets around 2 a.m., and when they tried to pull him over, he drove off.
The man then allegedly ditched his car, ran towards a row of townhouses on Wales Avenue and climbed on the roof to escape.
Police brought in search dogs, and firefighters helped check the tops of the buildings.
They caught the suspect in an alley nearby.
He will be charged for the pursuit, for allegedly fleeing a number of crashes and for apparently violating bail conditions.
