Fire engulfs multiple homes in Brampton

Crews took two hours to bring a fire under control after it engulfed three homes in Brampton.

Police received multiple calls about the fire on Beaconsfield Avenue, near Steeles Avenue West and Chinguacousy Road, around noon Friday.

There are reports one person had smoke inhalation.

Brampton Fire said the roof of one of the homes was in danger of collapsing and sent in more trucks. It took eight crews to contain the fire.

Witness Andre Bodemann told CityNews it only took about 10 minutes before the neighbouring homes caught on fire.

“(I saw) large flames, high flames, probably 20-30 feet higher than the homes…and then the houses to the left and right side caught fire on the roofs, and then it went from there. It happened really quickly.”
