Two dead in Port Hope collision

PORT HOPE, Ont. – Two women are dead following a two-vehicle collision in Port Hope, Ont. Thursday, according to provincial police.

A Pontiac collided with a truck near County Road 28 and Ganaraska Road around 4 p.m., police said.

Both women were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have identified the victims as Dayna Jiggins, 62 and Lisa Hoyt, 54, both from Port Hope.

The male driver of the truck was not injured.

The stretch of roadway is expected to be shut down until at least midnight, police said.
