3 arrested after cellphone robbery spree

Police have arrested three men they say robbed several cellphone stores in the city.

The men allegedly stole phones from seven shops starting on Feb. 17. According to witnesses, they wore masks and said they were armed.

After a robbery on Tuesday, the suspects fled in a getaway car and hit two police officers who had responded to the scene. The officers weren’t seriously hurt.

The hold-up squad used the phones’ GPS systems to track the suspects to the Finch Avenue West and Weston Road area and arrested them on Tuesday.

Brandon Caleb, 26, Jafari Hunter, 21, and Cosmo James 28, have been charged with robbery, disguise with intent and possession of stolen property.
