Taxi driver stabbed in west-end

TORONTO, Ont. – A Toronto taxi driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in the city’s west-end Tuesday night.

The incident occurred in the Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue West area.

The taxi driver, in his 50s, was stabbed twice in the torso by a male suspect at around 11 p.m.

Police said the victim is expected to be released from hospital Wednesday morning.
