Toronto man arrested after 2009 shootout

Police have arrested a 20-year-old man they say is responsible for two shootings in Toronto which put innocent bystanders at risk.
Officers say the suspect was involved in a shootout between two groups on Augusta Avenue on Sept. 8, 2009. Stray bullets narrowly missed other people in the area.
And on May 28, 2012, the man allegedly shot at a group of males near Dundas and River streets in Regent Park. One bullet flew into a kitchen and another went into the bedroom of a second home.
Police recovered the guns at both scenes, and no one was hurt.
The suspect — who can’t be named because he was a youth at the time of the first shooting — was arrested on Wednesday and charged with several weapons offences.
He appeared in court at Old City Hall.
