Man seriously hurt in Hwy. 401 crash in Pickering

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 401 in Pickering on Tuesday.
The 44-year-old victim was taken to Sunnybrook hospital after he apparently lost control of his car and slammed into the guardrail on the eastbound express lanes at Whites Road before dawn.
Firefighters reportedly had to extricate the man from his car.
There’s no word on what caused the crash.
