Seth Meyers to replace Fallon on ‘Late Night’

Comedian Seth Meyers is going from Saturday night to Late Night.

NBC has confirmed that Meyers will be taking over for Jimmy Fallon next year when he moves to “The Tonight Show.”

Meyers has been with Saturday Night Live for 12 seasons and currently serves as the show’s head writer. He is best known as the host of the show’s Weekend Update segment.

He says he hopes he can do justice to his new time slot.

Falon, also an SNL alum, is replacing long time host Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” in 2014.

An official start date hasn’t been announced but NBC officials say the changes will occur around the Winter Olympics.
