Raptors team president Colangelo resigns

The Toronto Raptors’ president of team and business operations has resigned, the team announced Wednesday.

Bryan Colangelo, who joined the organization in February 2006 as president and general manager, will become a consultant for the Raptors and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.

“Having had a better chance to reflect on things for the past several weeks, I have concluded that stepping away from my position is the best course of action for the organization and everyone involved,” Colangelo said in a release.

The resignation comes only weeks after the team announced that Masai Ujiri would become the Raptors new GM.
