The drive down the Don Valley Parkway could get a little brighter.
Businesses and politicians want to light up the Bloor Viaduct and complete the “luminous veil”, the original plan to light up the bridge at night.
They want it to be lit up in time for the 2015 Pan Am Games.
In the new design, lights on either of Bloor Street will cascade like water as it laps up on shore.
Under the Viaduct, the steel Archways that support that the subway will also be illuminated.
The $1.9-million plan incorporates LED lights, which will be energy efficient and require little maintenance.
The luminous veil would have to be approved this week to be ready on time.
