Shania Twain working on first album since 2002

Shania Twain is working on her first album since 2002’s Up!

“I’m pretty much there with my songs, and I’m really just sitting on the fence in regards to a producer,” Twain told Rolling Stone magazine on Monday.

Twain, who grew up in small-town Timmins, Ont., and became country music’s biggest-selling female artist of all time, is currently performing at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

She’s been tweeting photos from the stage and behind the scenes, including one image of a $5,000 chip – donated by a lucky fan to her foundation.

Her next Vegas engagement will run from Oct. 15 to Dec. 14, and after that, it’s back to the album.

Twain told Rolling Stone she’s been inspired by Lana Del Ray, Alison Krauss and Robert Plant.

“I do want it to be perfect,” she said.

“I’m different, I’ve evolved, and I want that to be reflected in the music.”

Twain divorced her husband Mutt Lange in 2008 after 14 years of marriage. In 2011, she married Frédéric Theibaud in Puerto Rico.
