Hundreds in Etobicoke lose power after car crashes into pole

Hundreds of Etobicoke homes lost power after a driver crashed into a hydro pole early Sunday morning.
The collision happened around 3 a.m. at Weston Road and Stairview Lane, south of Sheppard Avenue West.
Soon after, Toronto Hydro said as many as 1,000 customers had lost power.
Crews managed to restore electricity to most customers within eight hours.
There’s no word yet on what caused the crash.
