Tina Fey & Amy Poehler to host 2014 & 2015 Golden Globes

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the 2014 and the 2015 Golden Globes, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Tuesday.

The pair hosted for the first time earlier this year and the broadcast drew record numbers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, 19.7 million people tuned in – a six-year high.

“We are thrilled Amy and Tina have decided to return as hosts of the Golden Globe Awards for the next two years,”  HFPA president Theo Kingma told THR.

“Their return ensures that the Golden Globes will once again be the biggest, best and most entertaining awards celebration of the year.”

The HFPA, a group of entertainment reporters, has presented the Golden Globes since 1944.

Fey has three Golden Globe awards to her name – two for best actress in a comedy and one for her show.

Poehler, who has been nominated but never won a Golden Globe, is known for creating seemingly improvised comedy bits at award shows – at this year’s Emmys, she and Julia Louis-Dreyfus pretended to get their thank-you speeches mixed up.

Fey and Poehler both had their start on Saturday Night Live, where Fey was head writer. They later worked together on the movies Mean Girls and Baby Mama.
