Katy Perry, Taylor Swift perform at Grammy nominations concert

Katy Perry and seven-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift performed at the Grammy nominations concert on Friday night.

The event, officially called The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night, was hosted by LL Cool J.

The show was broadcast on City.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Robin Thicke, T.I., Lorde, Migeul and Keith Urban also performed at the Los Angeles nomination concert.

While Perry and Swift performed live, they weren’t in L.A. Both singers are on tour. Perry, who has nine Grammy nominations to her name but no wins, performed from Canada, while Swift was in Australia.

Jay-Z led the nominations with nine, with Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore, Lewis, Justin Timberlake and Pharell Williams earning seven nominations each.

Canadian rapper Drake, who was initially scheduled to perform, did not appear at the nominations concert. A spokesperson told celebrity gossip website TMZ that Drake had a scheduling conflict.

The one-hour special precedes the Grammys, which will be shown on Jan. 26, 2014.

For the first time, City will broadcast next year’s Grammy awards as well as the 2015 and 2016 ceremonies.  A host for the awards ceremony has not been announced.

Rogers Communications is the parent company of City and this website.
