Environment Canada has confirmed that the province’s first tornado of the season touched down on Tuesday.
The agency says damage from a severe thunderstorm that roared across the Mildway area, in Southern Bruce County, was likely caused by a low end EF1 tornado.
It’s estimated that wind speeds neared 150 kilometres-per-hour.
Environment Canada says the tornado caused a damage path of about two kilometres, significantly damaging one home.
Two barns, trees and hydro poles were also damaged.
