Eaton Centre’s Mr. Greenjeans restaurant closes after 34 years

Mr. Greenjeans Restaurant & Bar has closed after 34 years at Toronto Eaton Centre.

Management thanked its staff and patrons for their support over the years in a posting in front of the restaurant.

“It’s been our pleasure to serve you, your family, friends and grandchildren!” the note stated.

“Sadly all good things come to an end. Thank you again for being part of this wonderful journey!”

No reason was provided for the restaurant’s closing.

No one from Mr. Greenjeans nor Eaton Centre was immediately available for comment. But mall security told CityNews the closing was sudden and happened a few days ago.

One patron posted on Facebook that she was sad it had closed.

“I had my 15th birthday party [sic] their with my parents and over the years I took my mom [sic] their for supper and then my boyfriend who became my husband! I have been going their as long as you have been open!” Karen Mcnicol said.
