A (former) Conservative candidate who peed in a coffee mug is already the target of online jokes.
Jerry Bance was running for the riding of Scarborough Rouge Park, but a party spokesperson confirmed on Monday that Bance will not be running in the east Toronto riding.
According to the CBC, Bance also owns and operates XPress Appliance Service, a home repair company. In 2012, CBC’s Marketplace was investigating home repair companies using hidden cameras. Bance was caught on camera urinating in a mug and dumping the contents in the homeowner’s sink.
Bance apologized, telling CBC News he “deeply regrets” his actions and that “the footage from that day does not reflect who I am as a professional or a person.”
The footage was re-aired on Sunday and Bance quickly became the target of online jokes and the subject of his very own hashtag, #peegate.
