Vote: Is Nathan Phillips Square the right place for the Toronto sign?

By

Mayor John Tory announced on Sunday afternoon that the city’s newest attraction would be staying put.

The 3D Toronto sign was erected outside city hall just before the Pan Am Games in July and quickly established itself as a rival to the CN Tower as the most-photographed monument in the city.

The illuminated sign is more than three metres tall by 23 metres long, with each letter weighing around 3000 pounds, and is expected to last at least 15 years.

Fitted with LED lights, the sign transitions through various colour combinations, glistens on the pool of water below at night, and has been a popular hangout for locals and visitors alike.

Reaction on social media was swift, congratulating the the decision.

But we want to know what you think — should the sign stay in front of city hall? Or is there a better place for it?
