One man dead following head-on collision in Milton

One man is dead and a second man is recovering after a two-vehicle collision in Milton early Saturday morning.
Halton police say the head-on crash happened just before 1 a.m. on Guelph Line near Side Road 10.
Police said a 48-year-old man from Guelph was operating a Mazda 3 and it veered into the northbound lane for unknown reasons, striking an on-coming Ford Focus head-on. The driver of the Ford Focus was a 21-year-old male from Milton.
The pair was reportedly trapped in the wreckage before being rushed to hospital.
The 21-year-old man suffered minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
Police said the 48-year-old man suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced in hospital.
Guelph Line was closed for six hours in both directions due to the collision and a police investigation.
Police said they will not be releasing the names of the males.
