Watch this: Salvation Army volunteers dance and sing

By

It’s a common sight this time of year: Dozens of Salvation Army volunteers flood the streets, sitting beside their clear plastic donation ‘kettles’ and ringing a bell.

But in New York City, they’re standing up – and getting down.

CityNews/Breakfast Television cameraman Bertram Dandy was in New York City when he spotted these three men dancing to Pharrell Williams’ song Happy. He took a video and then he noticed them popping up on every corner, bringing a little more cheer to the season.

Does their enthusiasm make you want to give more? Let us know in the comments.

There have been spirited campaigns against donating to the Salvation Army, mostly for its stance on LGBT issues. The charity believes that marriage must be between a man and a woman, but has also stated that “the Salvation Army stands against homophobia.”
