Ajax man charged in Blue Jays playoff ticket scam

By The Canadian Press

MILTON, Ont. – Halton regional police say an Ajax, Ont., man who placed an online ad offering baseball tickets for sale is charged with fraud.

Police say a 20-year-old man placed an online ad offering four Toronto Blue Jays playoff tickets for an Oct. 8, 2015, game in Toronto.

Investigators say the ad was answered by a Milton, Ont., man who agreed to purchase the tickets and pre-paid for the tickets via an electronic money transfer.

It’s alleged the Milton man never received the tickets.

Police say Ty Jaydon Paul Watson turned himself into Halton police on Tuesday and is charged with fraud under $5,000.

Watson is scheduled to appear in Milton court on Feb. 17.
