Looking for a new spot to go out to dinner?

Well, six of Canada’s top 10 best restaurants for 2016 are in Toronto, but snagging a reservation at these hot spots could be a challenge.

Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants magazine released the winners on Monday. The magazine looks to shape and drive conversation around what makes a good restaurant.

Over 72 judges, including Canada’s top chefs, restaurateurs, journalists and members of the food industry made the decisions on the final ten restaurants.

“We launched the magazine a year ago with the idea of satisfying the need for a genuinely authoritative national listing and ranking of our best restaurants,” said Editor-in-Chief Jacob Richler.

No. 1
The top spot went to a Montreal-based restaurant called Toqué!

Their cuisine is based on market-fresh with an emphasis on local products. Their current menu offers lobster with soya, yuzu, scallions, kohlrabi, peanuts, cilantro, rice chips, also venison loin with king eryngii mushrooms, bok choï, beet, miso, bordelaise sauce and a sea buckthorn mousse.

“Our ultimate pleasure is to make the last bite just as memorable as the first,” reads the menu.
