Mourners continue to pay respects to Rob Ford at City Hall

Mourners will continue to pay their respects to Rob Ford as the body of the former mayor lays in repose at City Hall.
Hundreds of people are expected at the main floor rotunda on Tuesday ahead of Ford’s funeral on Wednesday.
Ford’s body arrived at City Hall on Monday. His casket is being guarded by members of the Toronto Police Chief’s Ceremonial Unit.
Ford was a councillor when he died. His casket is draped in the City of Toronto flag.
Ford’s family said tributes and messages of support have poured in from not only Toronto, but Canada and the around the world, and they are grateful for all of them. They have also thanked Mayor John Tory for allowing Rob Ford to lie in repose at City Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honour to the Ford-Panov research panel at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Wednesday’s funeral will not be open to the public. However, the Ford family will hold a public celebration of life that evening. The schedule is below:

Tuesday:
7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.: Public viewing at City Hall
Wednesday:
9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Coun. Ford’s family will be arriving at City Hall
10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.: Staging for procession
10:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.: Processional to start from City Hall
Noon: Funeral services at St James Cathedral (private)
1 p.m.: Funeral services conclude, Ford and his family will depart to lay him to rest (private)
6:30 p.m.: The Ford Family welcomes members of the public to join them at the Toronto Congress Centre (650 Dixon Rd.) for a celebration of Ford’s life
9 p.m.: Celebration concludes
