Police ID Yonge and Bloor shooting victim as 18-year-old Toronto man

Toronto police have released the name of the man shot and killed near Yonge and Bloor streets on Wednesday night.

He has been identified as Gabriel Nikov, 18. He was a student at Central Toronto Academy, the Toronto District School Board said Friday.

According to the victim’s friend, the incident began as an argument over money between Nikov and the suspect in front a Starbucks store near Yonge and Asquith Avenue.

Witnesses said they heard five loud bangs.

Nikov was rushed to hospital where he later died.

Police continue to search for three men who were spotted running from the scene.

The suspects as white, one wearing a white jacket, the second wearing a baby blue jacket and the third wearing a black jacket.
