Elderly woman struck and killed by motorcycle in Caledon

An elderly woman has died after she was struck by a motorcycle in Caledon, Peel paramedics say.

It happened on Airport Road, north of King Street, just before noon on Friday.

The motorcyclist was heading south on Airport when they hit the woman who was crossing the roadway.

Police said the pedestrian, Suzana Krumpolec, 84, of Caledon succumbed to her injuries while en route to the hospital. The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries in the collision.

It’s not yet known if charges will be laid.

Airport Road was closed for several hours between King Street and Castlederg Side Road while the OPP investigated. The road has since reopened.
