The following Toronto beaches will be flying the Blue Flag.
- Bluffer’s Park Beach
- Centre Island Beach
- Cherry Beach
- Gibraltar Point Beach
- Hanlan’s Point Beach
- Kew-Balmy Beach
- Ward’s Island Beach
- Woodbine Beach
Meanwhile, Lake Ontario Waterkeeper has raised concerns about the city’s lack of testing in Toronto’s Inner Harbour.
After the heavy rains in recent weeks, the advocacy group found the worst levels of contaminants and E. coli it had ever measured in Lake Ontario.
The quality has since improved, with four out of five testing sites meeting water quality standards.
More than 4,000 beaches and marinas in 47 countries fly the Blue Flag.
