1 dead after falling off cliff at Albion Falls in Hamilton

A person has died after falling off a cliff at Albion Falls in Hamilton around 5 p.m. Saturday.

Officials said the person fell about 40 metres.

Two other people were trapped about 100 metres above the ground, and firefighters rescued them by rope.

The Hamilton Spectator said a 38-year-old man had minor scrapes and bruises and the other person didn’t appear to have serious injuries either.

No further information was released about the person who died.

The very next day, a 25-year-old man was rescued from Albion Falls. Hamilton police told CityNews that emergency crews were called to the area around 9:40 p.m. on Sunday. The man was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

One week ago, the Hamilton Spectator said, a 60-year-old woman was rescued from the same spot.
