Man arrested after suspicious package left at Toronto police headquarters

Toronto police arrested a 50-year-old man after a suspicious package was left at their headquarters on Thursday.

The building at College and Bay streets was placed under a hold and secure after police discovered the package shortly before 2 p.m.

Security camera footage showed a man in dark clothes and a red knapsack walk up to the entrance and leave a grey and red container on a concrete planter.

Police used a robot to probe the package and later confirmed that one detonation was made.

James Rockwood, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with mischief interfere with property. He was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
