Cyclist dies after collision with pickup truck, streetcar on King Street

A 39-year-old cyclist is dead after a collision involving a streetcar and a pickup truck in the city’s west end.
Emergency crews were called to the area of King Street West and Cowan Avenue, west of Dufferin Street, just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
Const. Clint Stibbe with Toronto Traffic Services said a Ford pickup truck was travelling southbound on Cowan Avenue when it entered onto King and was struck by a TTC streetcar heading westbound.
After the collision, the 26-year-old driver of the pickup truck lost control of the vehicle and struck a cyclist on the south side of King.
Police said the cyclist was taken to hospital in critical condition. He died a short time later in hospital.
There has been no word on charges.
