Southbound Hwy. 400 reopens after tractor-trailer rollover

A section of Highway 400 has reopened after a tractor-trailer crash forced its closure for most of the night.
According to police, the tractor-trailer rolled in the southbound lanes at Teston Road in Vaughan around 1 a.m. on Wednesday.
Only minor injuries were reported.
The lanes remained closed at King Road for about five hours while crews worked to clean up a fuel spill and to right the truck.
There has been no word on what caused the crash.
All lanes of Highway 400 reopened around 5:30 a.m.
However, the southbound 400 ramp to Teston Road remains closed for guardrail repairs.
Ontario Provincial Police have issued warnings lately after a slew of tractor-trailer crashes caused by careless driving.
This summer’s three crashes involving tractor-trailers claimed the lives of six people.
Since then, several more crashes involving tractor-trailers have taken place — including one in Cambridge in October that involved two transport trucks and a dump truck. A 59-year-old man was killed in that crash.
Last week, a tow truck driver was injured after a tractor-trailer rolled over into a ditch on Highway 401 in Milton.
