Maple Leafs acquire Canadiens centre Tomas Plekanec

The Montreal Canadiens have traded centre Tomas Plekanec to the Toronto Maple Leafs for defenceman Rinat Valiev, forward Kerby Rychel and a second-round draft pick.

Forward Kyle Baun is also headed to Toronto.

Plekanec has spent his entire 13-year career with Montreal after being drafted in the third round of the 2001 NHL Draft.
