Peel police have arrested and charged a fifth man in connection with a deadly assault in Brampton earlier this year.
Shortly before 6 p.m. on March 19, police responded to the area of Sandalwood Parkway East and Torbram Road after hearing of an assault.
They found the victim, 21-year-old Paviter Singh Bassi, with life-threatening head injuries.
Paramedics took him to a Toronto hospital, but he died the next day.
That week, police arrested and charged three Brampton men with first-degree murder: Karanvir Singh Bassi, 22, Guryodh Singh Khattra, 22, and Gurraj Bassi, 20.
A fourth man, 24-year-old Harminder Bassi, was arrested and charged with the same offence earlier this month.
And then on Wednesday, investigators arrested Harman Singh, a 23 year-old man from Caledon, and also charged him with first-degree murder.
He will appear in a Brampton court on Thursday for a bail hearing.
None of the suspects are related to the victim.
