3 dead including 2 children in Brampton multi-vehicle crash

By News Staff

A woman and two children from Woodbridge are dead following a multi-vehicle crash in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police were called to the intersection of Highway 50 and Countryside Drive just after 9 p.m. on Saturday night.

They say an SUV and a sports car were travelling on Highway 50 when they crashed.

Police say a 47-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three children were taken to a nearby hospital. A seven-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl were without vital signs and later pronounced dead. The third child, a 12-year-old girl from Woodbridge, was listed in stable condition.

Police say two of the deceased victims are mother and child, but it is unclear if the second deceased child was related to them. All three were in the same vehicle.

Two other adults — a 45-year-old  Caledon man and 39-year-old Toronto woman — were transported to hospital in non-life threatening condition and listed in stable condition.

There is still no indication what may have led up to the crash and the major collision unit is investigating.

No charges have been laid. Police are asking for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
