Two men face 27 charges in connection to 7 bank robberies

Two men are under arrest in connection with a series of bank robberies.

Police say between November 15 and December 3, a man entered seven separate bank branches and each time he approached the teller, handing them a note demanding a large sum of money while indicating he had a gun. On at least four occasions he threatened to shoot the victims.

Following one of the December 3 robberies, police pursued two suspects as they fled in a stolen car. The suspects abandoned the car and fled on foot with police managing the locate the driver of the stolen car a short time later.

Police say on December 13, with the help of Kingston police, they arrested the second suspect.

Antwoine Murray, 21, of no fixed address, is facing a total of nine charges including three counts of armed robbery.

Abdullah Waseem, 19, of Kingston, is facing a total of 18 charges including four counts of robbery and three counts of armed robbery.
