Toronto police arrested a 16-year-old boy after a gun was found in his backpack at a North York school, which police later determined was a replica.
Police were called to Avondale Alternative School on Silverview Drive, near Cummer and Willowdale avenues, just before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Police say the teen was arrested on school property.
The Toronto District School Board spokesperson Ryan Bird said the teen attends a program at the school.
