Arson suspected in Brampton fire that left 1 man in critical condition

Police are investigating after one person suffered life-threatening injuries in a Brampton apartment fire.

Emergency crews were called to a building on Balmoral Drive near Bramalea Road around 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

The victim, a 57-year-old man, was rushed to hospital in critical condition with burn injuries.

Police said a 46-year-old man was taken into custody.

The fire is being investigated as possible arson.
