Three people have been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash at Steeles Avenue East and Kennedy Road South in Brampton.

Emergency crews were called to the scene around 1 a.m. Thursday.

Police say a Hyundai was travelling southbound on Kennedy, when it made a u-turn and crashed into a Jaguar going northbound.

The Hyundai had to be cut open so fire crews could free two passengers that were trapped.

One of the victims suffered serious, possibly life-threatening injuries, another has serious injuries and the third victim has minor injuries.

No one in the northbound vehicle was hurt.

Kennedy was closed in both directions from Glidden Road and Rambler Drive.
