1 dead in multi-vehicle crash in Thornhill

A 76-year-old man is dead after a crash in Thornhill involving three vehicles Tuesday morning. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage of the incident, to get in touch with them.

One person is dead after a crash in Thornhill involving multiple vehicles Tuesday morning.

York Regional Police responded to a call for a collision in the Bathurst Street and Clark Avenue area around 10 a.m.

Police initially said they believed five cars were involved, but later confirmed that three vehicles collided.

York Regional Police says officers received information that a black Infiniti G37 struck a white Toyota Corolla and a white Pontiac Sunfire.

The 76-year-old driver of the Toyota Corolla was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.

The 73-year-old driver of the Infiniti was taken to hospital with minor injuries and the driver of the Sunfire was not injured.

The intersection will be closed for several hours as the major collisions unit investigates.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information or dash camera footage to contact them.
