Peel regional police have released a composite sketch of a suspect in a double stabbing that left a father dead and his son injured.

Police say up to five males were breaking into vehicles in the early morning hours of Friday, August 2, on Lanebrook Drive near Castlemore Road and Goreway Drive.

At around 2 a.m. two men, a father and his son who live in the area, confronted the suspects. Both were stabbed.

The father, Glensbert Oliver, 63, died at the scene. His son, aged 40, was injured but survived.

On Monday, police released a composite sketch of the person believed to be responsible for the homicide.

Police have also identified the vehicle the suspect was driving. It’s a Lexus RX350, model year is possibly 2010-2015. The vehicle is dark in colour, likely grey. (similar to the photo below)

“This was people just trying to stop a minor property offence that escalated to the point of becoming a homicide. Very tragic,” Acting Superintendent Martin Ottaway said on the day of the fatal stabbing.

Police are urging all suspects in the case to contact lawyers and turn themselves in.

If you know anything, contact police.
